week 6/7 question

I enjoyed reading about your ideal days. Many of you would have busy and very full days. Some of you, like me, would prefer a slower, quieter day. This week we are writing an essay about one part of our culture. When people move to another country, some of them decide to follow the customs of the country. Others prefer to keep their own customs. Tell us about a custom you have kept from your country or a custom in the U.S. that you have adapted to while living here. For me, when I lived Argentina, people ate dinner very late at night. Sometimes they ate at 9pm or later. I could never get used to that. At home, my husband and I always ate earlier and never adjusted to eating so late. If we were going to someone's house or meeting people at a restaurant, we would eat something at home before 7pm, then eat again with them!

  1. I lived in korea over 25 years. So I became accustomed to keep korean cuture.
However, we came to U.S.A to study English.
In my apinion, the united states isn't our country so while we are staying in here we'd better follow cuture and have to respect it. When I middle school I learn about that so I know American cuture fully well. After I came here I realize why don't they put off shoes indoor and How come do they call just name to elder ...these are impolite in Korea.
when in Rome.do as Romes do. so I am getting adopting them and I try to enjoy them.Such as wherever i go,whoever I meet ...I alway greeting them friendly.

  2. When I came to the America, I discovered something surprising me. those things are more different than my country. First, come to restaurant and finish the meal, just pay the money on the desk and go. No one check your money is correct immediately. The stuff of restaurant trust costumers their payment is correct. Other, I can't get used to buy something having to drive long distance, in my country, when I want to buy something, I just walk few minutes than I can get something I want, like the food or daily used, is very convenient. Those things would take some time to me get used to that.

  3. I thought that I want to keep a Japanese washing custom. However, it is impossible in America. In Japan, We hang out laundry and it dry by sunlight. The mattress and the cushion are so, too. Now, I dry it with a dryer entirely. I think that it is a very convenient custom and I can’t be avoided in the interests of crime prevention. Even so, I still feel nostalgic for Japanese manner.

  6. When I came USA first time, I felt very strange. Because I already knew about American people don't use honorific from of language. In my country who is older than someone we use honorific language always that is kind of rule, we cannot break that rule never. English dont have honorific language therefore when I talk English to older people I felt very guilty.

  8. I sometimes want to change my customs but It is extremely hard. I came the USA before seven months and I am living right now. I met two persons neighborhood and I went to their house in the morning. They want to visit their house with me and I ate some foods while I was eating the foods I was surprised. The meals was weakness for me. Just bread, jam, coffee and butter and I went for dinner their house and we ate for dinner. The meals are different about breakfast. For dinner was too heavy from meats, spagatti and salmon steak. I thought that they invite me so, they prepared for dinner very well. But It is wrong. I asked them about meals of way in the USA. Their's custom is. A breakfast is simple and a dinner is heavy. I was determinated I will change meals for way custom. Because, I live in the USA now. I can follow the USA but I can not follow them. Korean want to eat a breakfast very well why the reason that the morning begins for a days.
