Our time together is coming to an end. It's been a pleasure to be your teacher! Some of you will go back home and some of you will stay longer. For this last blog post, describe one thing you will take with you when you return home (whether soon or later) to remember your time here in the U.S.

April 21-28

Does this picture remind you of yourself or not? Are you a technophobe, someone who doesn't like new technology, or are you a techie, someone who likes new technology? What is your attitude toward technology?

Post for week of April 14-21

The topic for our next essay is technology. Tell me about something related to technology that you can't live without. I love my iphone! I especially like that I can check my e-mail anytime. It's great when my kids are in tennis or art class. I can check e-mails and have my calendar on hand at all times. I like to use the phone and text as well, but having the e-mail is the best thing.

April 7-14

I hope you all enjoyed your Spring Break and are ready to work hard for the next 7 weeks! We should be able to write 2 or 3 essays and do lots of fun grammar activities as well. For this blog, you only need to respond with a paragraph. Currently you are working on an essay about your personality related to your birth order and gender. I want you to think of your best friend or one of your siblings. Describe their personality and why that person is such a good friend or sister/brother. For me, I really enjoy being with my sister. She is so different than me. She is really funny. She doesn't like playing sports at all. She has 3 kids and is a teacher too. We laugh a lot when we are together.

Week 8

Next week some new students will be joining our class. Remembering what your first week was like, share with them 1 or 2 pieces of advice to help them adapt quickly. Also, make sure to welcome them to the class.

week 6/7 question

I enjoyed reading about your ideal days. Many of you would have busy and very full days. Some of you, like me, would prefer a slower, quieter day. This week we are writing an essay about one part of our culture. When people move to another country, some of them decide to follow the customs of the country. Others prefer to keep their own customs. Tell us about a custom you have kept from your country or a custom in the U.S. that you have adapted to while living here. For me, when I lived Argentina, people ate dinner very late at night. Sometimes they ate at 9pm or later. I could never get used to that. At home, my husband and I always ate earlier and never adjusted to eating so late. If we were going to someone's house or meeting people at a restaurant, we would eat something at home before 7pm, then eat again with them!
