week 2 Question
I think everyone was able to get connected. Before you came to the United States, you probably had some impressions of Americans from the movies or from things you had read or heard. Now that you live here, write a paragraph about one or two things that have surprised you. These would be things that are different from what you had expected.

I lived in America about 3 weeks ago.It's the first time for me to live at here and I have two things made me surprise.It's not difference from my expecte.Because I'm not expected for anything.And two things made me surprise are the size of every things and the snow.
ReplyDeleteWhy I'm excited about the size of every things around me.Because I think it's very big for me.For example big guys,big car,big plate of food and big seat.Every things around me made me look like an ant.If I stay here for long time.I think I will have big size too.
Snow made me surprise because my country is very warm.I never see the snow before.The first time when I saw it I'm very cxciting.I'm standing on white ground someting small white and cold falling down on my head an my hand.I look at the snow and I think "Can I eat it?".Snow made me cold but I like it and I will try to eat it.
When I came to the United States. There are two things that are to surprise me. First is the weather. Before I come the Unite States, I thought the weather that would to be like the movies have a great California sunshine and comfortable weather. Unexpectedly, when I came here everyday it was raining and cloudy.
ReplyDeleteSecond, it is the Chinese food. Because of I thought there have rarely Chinese food in United States. Especially, I brought the some of Chinese foods from my country, but now I realized, there have many Chinese restaurant and Chinese markets at nearby where I live, so I can eat whatever Chinese food in United States.
When I came to United Stated and knew somethings were not same my image before, but that is good for me to understand other country.
I came to America, and one month passed away. Some being surprised had me during this one month. I think that there are a difference of the culture and the lack of investigation.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I was surprised too much quantity of the American meal. The menu of the lunch when I arrived. A hamburger of my palm size and a heaping bowlful of potato. The juice which was filled a big glass to the brim with. I thought this quantity not to be able to eat alone. However, the American around me ate as if nothing happened. I still think that “Why can you eat too much?”
Next, a lot of Japanese cars ran on the American road. Toyota, Honda, Mitubishi. When I watched this, I was glad, but was slightly disappointed. Because I thought that I could watch big and showy cars. I didn’t change with the scenery which I watched in Japan. While I stay in America, I want to look showy cars.
When I came to the U.S.A, I had some impressive and surprise things are larege in quantity of foods. When I arrived in San Jose, I had lunch with Japanese two friends and Ben of SAL teacher in Flame.I was very starving but I had have jet leg. And so tired when that time so I just wanted simple menu and cheap things because Ben said "I'll check before we ordered." When I got my menu, I really surprised because it was 3 fried eggs, big steak, many potato sticks, and some rice.I couldn't eat all and I didn't try do that as well as. Because I was warried about diet.So I never eat what hambuger or oily foods for 1month. But I am thingking about what foods also are culture of the U.S.A. So I am tring many America foods. As well as, important thing is for me when I ate America food,I usually go to gym for running for 1hour. That is good for me that I can try American food and I can be healthy by running. It is killing two with one.

ReplyDeleteI thought that life in America is cheep but i was shocked about the expensive living . For example , the housing , and food are expensive .
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand , the good thing is the easy connection . For instance , the internet makes your life so easy by submitting the homeworks online , buying books , and paying bills
I had some impressions of Americans from the movies and from things I had read a book and heard from people and TV when I lived in Seoul into South korea. And I am living in the USA right now and I realized two things. This is liberalism and creation with several reasons. The first is a liberalism. It is like as public order. For example, I was surprised when I went a bank, a school's district, hospital and a customer's services into shopping center. Workers talked with calling people on the phone and the time was passed but the customer didn't talk to worker a complaint. They waited and waited while they were getting a phone. I worried that I wouldn't finish a something until on time. After all, they finished that day's task at on time. I thought that this is liberalism, so they can make a top of the world about things. Second is creation. For example, I saw a trash's tractor on the street when I was walking on the road in the morning and I was surprised. Because, The trash tractor is like as sciential. I have to seperate about trash. I have to put some paper and kinds of recycling into recycling basket. And then I have to put some garbage into trash basket. I was curious about these situation. How to take these baskets? Of course, I already known thought the movies and TV and I forgot. And I saw a trash tractor. The USA is so sciential and knows for the future. In conclusion, the liberalism and creation are basically and the USA investigating for the future though them.
ReplyDeleteI came America 5month ago. I visit America maybe when I was 11years old, so I already knew American people are kindly. I have 3reasons about why suprised in the America. I suprised California's winter doesn't have snow, but I like CA weather. Because not too cold and not too hot to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso I suprised about every store close very early. When I was want buy something at 10:00PM
but every store closed, so I can not buy.
In the Korea most store open 24hours. So that made me suprise. Then last thing is in the theater when I was watch the movie I dont need a sit number. Korea theater has sit number, so we can sit just our sit number that is write on the movie ticket. So I was suprised too.
I came to U.S 2 month ago , i was suprised from many things . Like when i went to cinema i was suprised about it, you can enter many movie just buy one ticket . I'm a smoker and the cigarette it's very important from me, it's very expensive maybe 6$ for one packet

The tax , in my country we don't have tax , but in U.S every things you have to pay tax
When I first time come to American, I have two things that me feel surprised and interested. First is the weather, before I think America have snow can play on the street just like movie, now that me so despair. Second, is people and car, some of the American are opening door when you want come in to the store, just that you go first, and when you walk on the street, almost car will let you first. In conlusion, all of the thing are excitied for me when I first time came to America.

like skyscrapers yellow cab and so on.But when I arrived San jose
I could see sky and mountain merge into each other.First as i know
the white live only USA. after got to here I met many kind of people
spanish,Mexican,Indian.I didn't know that Mexican effect to American
economic.Second, I heard that many times USA is very huge place.
that's why I can move with out car. even though the transportation
develop very well, wherever i go It takes very long time. minimum is 2 hours.I\these made me surprise.I'm getting adapt to the new surroundings
I thimk that there are many deferant things between Unite state and korea.
ReplyDeletefirst, there are many japan cars in United stats. when I came to United stats, I'm amazing. many japan cars were drived. I gone to japan in 2009, United stats seem that there are more japan cars than japan.
second, whether is warm. korea is very cold in winter, but califonia is so warm. It is good for me to stay here. I like warm whether.
I come to US about 4 munthes ago.The life her is very good and I surprise this life.first of all,it is a big cauntry and organization.The strange thing,the cost of living.The anather thing I surprised the many holidays I loved.
